The Herald Society Awards 2018 are open for applications until Tuesday 4 September

Paisley-based Jordan McPhail has become the youngest individual to receive a Build It award from social enterprise agency, Firstport. The grant was awarded from the Scottish Government’s Social Entrepreneurs Fund.

Paul Parmenter, one of this year’s Social Innovation Competition judges, runs The Workshop, a social enterprise in Aberfeldy. Below he discusses his experience, creating opportunities for young people in the area.
