 Here's your social enterprise funding opportunities open in February: 

The NatWest SE100

The NatWest SE100 celebrates the growth, impact and resilience of social ventures in the UK.

The search is on for the UK’s top 100 social enterprises, as entries open for the NatWest SE100 Index and Social Business Awards 2019.

The NatWest SE100 celebrates the growth, impact and resilience of social ventures in the UK – by naming the most impressive 100 social enterprises of the year in the Index, and giving seven SE100 Social Business Awards for the most outstanding achievers.

Applications are open to all UK-based social enterprises, and it costs nothing to enter. 

To enter, submit your information on the application form by following this link. The deadline for entries is 7pm on 14 February.

 

2019 AccelerateHER Awards:

The 2019 AccelerateHER Awards have now been launched. The awards will be celebrating and supporting aspirational female entrepreneurs based in Scotland.

The awards are open to entrepreneurial women who play a leading role in companies with strong global growth potential, the awards programme provides an ideal platform for them to connect with Investing Women’s network of angel investors, commercial advisers and other successful entrepreneurs. To date, more than 500 businesswomen have joined the AccelerateHER community.

Entrants will initially be asked to submit a video pitch and executive summary via the Investing Women’s website, outlining their business, its ambitions, growth plans and investment potential. A panel of highly experienced judges will then review the submissions and draw up a shortlist of 12-15 entrants who will present to a panel on March 20th 2019 at Skyscanner, Edinburgh.

Scottish EDGE

Scottish EDGE is back for EDGE14 2019. Now open for applications, the competition is aimed at identifying and supporting Scotland’s up-and-coming, innovative, high-growth potential entrepreneurial talent.

This year they have launched a new Circular Economy Award, supported by Zero Waste Scotland, to celebrate businesses with innovative circular economy ideas and encourage entrepreneurs to explore more circular ways of doing business. Applicants to this award could be in the running for up to £100k worth of support from Scottish EDGE.

As well as this new addition, the Social Enterprise award runs again, after a significant increase in representation at the application and finalist stages round on round. Scottish EDGE are running an application workshop to help you put forward the best application you can. The Social Enterprise EDGE Workshop will take place in Edinburgh on the 18th February. The Scottish EDGE category has three assessment stages:

1. 1st Stage Assessment of Application and Video Presentation

2. Live Semi-Final Presentation (3-min presentation followed by 7-minute Q&A)

3. Live Final Presentation (3-min presentation followed by 7-minute Q&A)

What you can win:

Funding of up to £100,000 (£150,000 for Higgs EDGE), taking the form of a

40% grant, 60% loan

Mentoring and support from a mature entrepreneur

Enrolment into the EDGE Alumni programme

Package of Support from leading business organisations

The Social Innovation Tournament

 

The Social Innovation Tournament run by the European Investment Bank Institute, recognises and supports the best European social entrepreneurs. The competition will be accepting applications between 1st February and the 7th March 2019. 

Organised in a different country every year, the Social Innovation Tournament rewards and sponsors European entrepreneurs whose primary purpose is to generate a social, ethical or environmental impact.
