Are you passionate that business and enterprise can play a role in better supporting our communities and the environment? Are you someone who can help unlock that potential? Come join the team at Firstport.

Firstport for Social Entrepreneurs is Scotland’s leading development agency for supporting start up social enterprises and the budding social entrepreneurs behind them. We are a small team working in every part of Scotland, helping develop over 1100 ideas every year. Our clients come in all shapes and sizes, from individuals setting up social enterprises in small rural communities all the way to fast-paced, high growth start-ups.

Over the next 18 months we will be breathing life into a new organisational strategy that will help us increase our capacity to support the growing interest in social entrepreneurship, whilst playing a more purposeful role in shaping the inclusive economy agenda across Scotland. This will see us expand existing activity, build flexibility across our programmes, invest in data-led decision making, develop new lines of income, and find more relevant ways of supporting social entrepreneurs from all walks of life.

We’re looking for a Head of Business Development to lead on organisational growth through directing and managing business development activities, ensuring these are delivered in accordance with the organisational strategy. Working closely with the Chief Executive as part of the senior management team, this newly created role will work in both Firstport’s charity and help develop activity in its commercial arm.
